When you receive a shipment, signing with reservation of inspection is your best ally.

This is not a mere formality, but a fundamental safeguard that allows you to check the contents of the package and report any damage even after delivery.

What is signing with reservation?

It is a way of accepting the goods while reserving the right to check their integrity at a later date.

By signing with reservation, you declare that the parcel may not have arrived in perfect condition, and you retain the right to dispute any damage with the carrier.

HOW AND WHEN DOES IT APPLY?

 

1) In the presence of the courier

Always check the external packaging and the number of packages in front of the driver.
▶ Remember: the driver cannot refuse to allow you to make a reservation.
If this happens, contact us immediately: we will intervene immediately at the relevant branch.

 

2) If you notice visible damage

Write a specific reservation on the delivery note, such as:
‘Reservation for boxes delivered without pallet’
‘Reservation for inspection of box with crushed corners’
‘Reservation for pallet with broken seal’

Do not limit yourself to the words ‘reservation for inspection’.
Clearly indicate what and how many visible damages there are.

 

3) If you cannot check the contents immediately

Accept the goods anyway, subject to inspection: this will give you the opportunity to examine the package at your leisure and report any anomalies. Any anomalies must be reported within 8 days of the delivery date.

 

4) Document everything

Take photos of the damage and the label on the package as soon as you receive it.
Send us the photos together with the delivery note with the specific reservation: this will allow us to immediately notify the carrier and protect your right to a refund.

What happens if you do not make a reservation?

Signing without reservation means declaring that the goods received are perfect. In this case, any claims for damage due to transport may not be accepted.
